Mrs. Mattie Ruth Midyette
Mrs. Mattie Ruth Midyette, age 91, a resident of 250 Lovers Lane, Britthaven of Washington, died Thursday, December 13, 2007 at Beaufort County Hospital.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, December 15, 2007 in the chapel of Hillside Funeral Service with Rev. Curtis Haislip and David Linton officiating. Burial will follow at Ryder Hill Cemetery in Pamlico Beach.
The family will receive friends from 1:30PM until the funeral hour at Hillside Funeral Service and other times at the home of her son at 2317 Matthews Road, Robersonville.
Mrs. Midyette was born September 22, 1916 in Hyde County. She was the daughter of the late Israel Mooney and Ellen Berry Mooney. She was married to Ralph Benjamin Midyette, who preceded her in death in 1956. Mrs. Midyette was a retired seamstress for Samson Shirt Factory with 25 years service. She attended the 15th St. Church of God in Washington as long as her health would permit.
Survivors include her son, Joseph D. Midyette, Sr. of Robersonville; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and eleven great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Harriett Grace Midyette Peed.
