                                                     Maggie Adams

    Mrs. Maggie Adams, age 85, a resident of 321 Circle Street, Washington, beloved mother and grandmother, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Monday, February 1, 2010.

    A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, February 5, 2010 at Washington Assembly of God with Pastor Kenneth Pritchard officiating. Burial will follow at Adams Cemetery. Billy Adams, Jr., Michael Adams, Sam Adams, Wayne Brewer, Billy Craig, III. and B.J. Pollard will serve as pallbearers. Joe Brewer, Wayne Brewer, III, Aaron Bridgeman, Chad Langley, Alex Spain and Dallas Spain, Jr. will serve as honorary pallbearers.

    The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30, Thursday, February 4, 2010 at Washington Assembly of God and other times at the home.

    Mrs. Adams was born in Robeson County on January 7, 1925 to Robert E. Lee and Cora Granger Merritt. Maggie was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and wonderful mother-in-law. She was always faithful to her church and family. Maggie was a member of Washington Assembly of God for the past 14 years.

    She is survived by four daughters, Doris Adams, Evelyn Brewer, and Edith Mason all of Washington and Sue Flowers and husband Gene of Selma, NC; three sons, Bill Adams and Tom Adams and wife Lou Ellen, both of Washington and Sam Adams, Jr. of Washington, DC; 11 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; and one sister, Kathelene Long of Fayetteville, NC.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Adams and granddaughter, Lisa Jefferson Dupree.
