Mr. John E. Moore
Mr. John E. Moore, age 80, of 107 Heron Lane, Bath, NC, died Friday, January 4, 2008.
Mr. Moore was born May 20, 1927 in Pitt County and was the son of the late Elbert Allen Moore and Annie Ruth Barwick. On November 27, 1994, he married the former Ruby Paul, who survives. He was a graduate of Kinston High School in Kinston, NC and was a veteran of the US Army. As a general contractor for 35 years, he was involved in many historical renovation projects including the Adam Thoroughgood House. Along with his father, he built the current Eastern Shore Chapel. He was a resident of North Carolina for 45 years and attended Bath Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Paul Moore of Bath; three sons, John A. Moore and his wife, Candace of Falls Church, VA, Mark V. Moore of Virginia Beach, VA, and Sam A. Moore and his fiancee, Denise of Kitty Hawk, NC; two daughters, Mary C. Moore and her husband, Bill of Norfolk, VA and Janie Carlisle and her husband, Phil of Virginia Beach, VA; his first wife, Catherine V. Moore; and six grandchildren, Jeannie Gray, Katy Wirth, Sara Moore, Brittany Moore, Elizabeth Moore, and Catherine Carlisle.
In honor of Mr. Moore’s wishes, no public service will be held.
