                                     Mr. Jeffrey Winston Pierce

    Mr. Jeffrey Winston Pierce, 57, of 207 Mallard Dr., Washington, died Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital.
    
    A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, October 4, 2007 in the chapel of Hillside Funeral Service with Rev. Dick Tucker officiating.
    
    The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at Hillside Funeral Service, 4500 Highway 264 East, Washington and other times at the home.
    
    Mr. Pierce was born September 1, 1950 in Maricopa, AZ.  He was the son of Dr. William Vernon Pierce, Sr. and Helen Burke Brant.  He graduated from Palatka Senior High School and St. Johns River Community College in Palatka, FL.  On September 22, 1979, he married the former Jean Payne.  Mr. Pierce was a veteran of the US Army and was employed with The New Domtar Paper Mill in Plymouth, NC.  He was a Gator fan, a golfer and a lover of animals.  He and his wife had been residents of Beaufort County since 2005.
    
    Survivors include his wife. Jean P. Pierce of Washington, NC; his mother, Helen Brant of Williamston, NC; his father, Dr. William Pierce, Sr. and his wife, Barbara of Palatka, FL; his children, David Ashley Pierce and his wife, Kelli of Virginia Beach, VA, Deia Pierce Elliott and her husband, Scott of Middleburg, FL,  Stella Nicole Pierce and Zachary Fieldon Pierce, both of Greenville, NC; one sister, Linda Jones of Orangeburg, SC; two brothers, Vernon Pierce and Vincent Pierce, both of Jacksonville, FL; seven grandchildren, Mitchell, Austin, Tristan, Shane, Shawn, Cassidee and Kenley, and
his in-laws, Stella Urvina and her husband, David of Palatka, Fl, and William Jackson Payne, Jr. and his wife, Wilma of Thurman, NC.  
   
     He was preceded in death by one son, Jeffrey Pierce, and one brother, Victor Pierce.

    In lieu of flowers, the family requests the memorial contributions be sent to: Last Chance For Animals, 8033 Sunset Blvd. #835, Los Angeles, CA 90046 or The Beaufort County Humane Society, PO Box 8, Washington, NC 27889.
