Mrs. Dorothea “Dolly” Louise Edwards
Mrs. Dorothea “Dolly” Edwards, 81, of Charlie Smith Court, Grimesland, died Saturday, March 29, 2008 at her home.
A funeral service will be held at Schuminek Funeral Home in Perry Hall, MD and burial at Gardens of Faith Cemetery in Baltimore, MD.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 PM, Monday, March 31, 2008 at Hillside Funeral Service, 4500 Highway 264 East, Washington, NC and other times at the home. Chaplain Dino Schulmier of Community Home Care and Hospice will be available at the visitation.
Mrs. Edwards had been a resident of Pitt County since 1992. She was born March 26, 1927 in Baltimore, Maryland, daughter of the late James Williams Worth and Freida Louise Haderman Worth. She was married in October 1946 to Lester Dale Edwards, who preceded her in death on December 21, 1988. Mrs. Edwards was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of Chocowinity United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Carole Ann Reynolds of the home; two grandchildren, Heather Dawn Sanders of Greenville, NC, and Jason Ryan Reynolds and his wife, Vicki of Ayden, NC; four great-grandchildren, Garrett McGregory Sanders, Autumn Lee Sanders, Justin Dale Reynolds and Ashley Nicole Reynolds; one brother, James Albion Worth and wife, Lydia of Baltimore, MD; one sister, Anne Carolyn Smith of Baltimore, MD; and in-laws, Gene and Fern Moyers of Westminister, MD, Berlie and Doris Edwards of Ellicott City, MD, and Edna Edwards of Galax, VA.
Flowers are welcome at either Hillside Funeral Service in Washington, NC or Schuminek Funeral Home in Perry Hall, MD, or memorial contributions may be directed to Community Home Care and Hospice, 814 West 15th Street, Washington, NC 27889.
The family wishes to express their profound thanks to Michele Sugg, friend and caregiver to Mrs. Edwards, for her love and care to “Dolly”.
